Digital photography has much to be admired; however, Douglas believes it always lacks the soul to be found in an image appearing through a sea of chemicals under the subtle glow of a red darkroom light.

Douglas’s wet plate collodion work at Stirling Castle has allowed him to pursue three personal passions: science, art and history.
